Could someone get me the model for, Thrall, Sylvanas, Vol'jin, Cairne, Bolvar, Tyrande, Magni, and Mekkatorque I know thats too much request but if its possible I would really appreciate it. Also I would want to do the model myself but I don't know how to export it from WoW I would really be happy if someone would teach me how so I can give other people some models I can make.
how to extract wow models: (you need: My WarCraft Studio, mdlvis, and an editor of your choice, I use War3 Model Editor v1.05) 1.step: Extract the model you like with My WarCraft Studio from the wow model.mpq(its located normally in "C://Program FilesWorld of Warcraft/Data/model.mpq" You can also extract with an MPQ program but with MWS you see what you extract 2.step: Save the texture you would like to use for the model from WoW Texture.mpq(do not use"...Extract File" because the .blp Files from WoW are different to the WcIII .blp files) 3.step: Use mdlvis(since its a greek tool you cant read it but that doesn't matter) Using mdlvis: 1.step: Open the WoW model (.m2) file (Press strg-o or klick on the open icon) 2.step: Klick on "Ôàée" and then klick "Níoòáìéòu êàé" save your model as .mdl where you'd like to 4.step: open the model in Notepad and Search for "Textures". edit the Texture paths here if something stands ther written completely in CAPS(since these Textures wont load if u dont edit the filename in Notepad) 5.step: Now Flip your extracted Textures once vertical and convert the with a blp converter(i use Image Extractor II or Wc3 Map Utilities) 6.step: (just if you have extractet a Character Model) now open the Model in your Model Editor. Since not all Geosets are needed you can delete the ones you dont need (that takes time(= thats the #1 reason because there are so less WoW character Models Extracted yet)
7.step: (Optional)how to "equip" the model: use Wc3 Model Editor v1.05 now(I use it myself and have never had any problems with it AND:You dont need to pay anything for it) 1.step: extract the geoset of the thing u want to add 2.step: insert the texure with the texture manager 3.step: add a new material with the texture u just added 4.step: import the geoset and attach it to the bone(orc female bones are : helm: bone_b81 RightShoulder: bone_b71 LeftShoulder: bone_b70) you can see what bone to use if you just play an animation while deleting bones with the node manager(that also takes much time) 5.step: klick on the geoset u added and use your new material with the texture of it
Death_X6.step: move the gear where you want it with the model editor
ok! thats how I extract wow models. If someone nows a faster way please tell me ;P --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so you see its not very difficult to extract but it takes way too much time and the models are MUCH too big in the end. But For an WoW Campaigne these models would be great
