a question about Handlers

Im working on some jass spells and im getting along pretty ok. However i read something about Handles by dealin and how to use them.

I tried importing the codes into the header of the map but then it says its a expansion map when i save it.
I DONT WANT IT TO BE A .W3X!

Soooo.. is it possible to use handle's in a ROC map or should i just stick to global vars.

Please help me out.

@PurplePoot:
Erm... If he would not have it, his editor would not try to save the map in expansion format...
(as it should not be able to)

well i do have TFT but its a copied disc, and i cant get onto Bnet with it. Since im making a map i want to get out on bnet it has to be for ROC.(i dont want to buy tft)

Why does the handlers script have to be in the header?
Would it work if i would just copie it into the script before the other functions are called?
#5
but then that trigger would have to be before all the other triggers, and you could only copy it once.

you can also update blizzard.j in map archive manually

but if he didnt have TFT, and these required it, it wouldnt save, and that was my point

anyways,

you can also update blizzard.j in map archive manually

on the other hand, its not a good idea

things get REALLY messy when you mess with the MPQs...

i once saw my brother try to put a warden skin into the MPQ, and the warden came out all black and purple :?

The last time i tried editing the mpg text files it gave me errors so ill stick to inserting the handlescripts at the beginning of the map script. Just made it the first trigger so that should work.

I'll let u know if it works, see no reason why not tho

well simply puttin it in a trigger doesnt work. WE crashes when i try to save.
updating the war3map.j doenst work either.

I read some more posts about this problem, has anyone thought of a solution or even why it crashes?

...because you didnt make the Gamecache variable?
#11
lol,

wish that was true, then it would be fixed in no time.

Nevermind i got it fixed.

Turned out that i needed to remove the (jasslocalvars.w3v) and not just onlyInitGameCache.

Actually got that idea form one of purpleroots spells,

so thanks!
