What are .rar files?

Ok I need My Warcraft Studio 0.9 but when I download it it's a .rar file. What is it how do I use it. I only understand .zip files not .rar files. Someone please tell me what it is.

Anyways, i already answered in an older thread. a .RAR file is an older form of compression. You can open them with a free RAR extractor, WinRAR, etc.

RAR isn't an older form, its a newer form

Its also MUCH better than ZIP. I can point you to a 300 megabyte RAR file. The catch? Its ZIP equivilent is 800 megabytes

Pretty nice compression, no?

Sorry for all these frustrating things I have been saying...

Anyway I finaly solved it because of Mecheon and PurplePoot. I got WinRar and extracted MyWarcraftStudio_0.9. I found Hakkar, Tigon male and female, slith and all the other models I needed thank you everyone who helped...

Even if I was being an idiot.
