I use 3D max 5.0, with Yobogul's file converter and TheProphet's File viewer and extractor.

If you are looking for a free modeling program I reccomend trying Gmax out (www.discreet.com).

@Sopho: No, Milkshape is not free. It's shareware.

@McFluffin: Discreet's server seems to be down or something. You can get Gmax here. Oh, and btw, 3ds max costs about a few thousand bucks. I think you'd rather use Gmax.
