How do I get rid of weapons?

I have no idea how to get a weapon out of someone's hand, so that I can put another one in. Please help?

You'd alpha it out. Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop are capable of this.

Is there any other way?

Don't think so. When I mean alpha, it means to remove something by making it transparent.
