I have gmax and i hate it i need a good program to make models that is free, or if someone could help me with gmax that would be helpful. I dont know how to make models and there is no tutorial for it that i can find. And i need a program to convert mdl to mdx or gmax files to mdl/mdx

1. You could try Milkshape Its shareware, not freeware though.

2. You can download WAR3 File Converter to convert .mdl to .mdx.

You can download the tutorial files from the site you downloaded Gmax. They can help you get familiar with thre program. You can export to MDL using 'DeX Script, just do a search on Wc3Campaigns.com to find it.
