I personally perfer unique icons, as it gives a sense of diversity and originality; but re-colours can be effective too. Your edit has been done really well; retaining the quality of the original. Try using the Template files and using a high-quality image; with something in-line with the WC Game. Keep it up.
To be honest, the credit is not mine; I simply did the easy part. The real thanks should go to the artists of the MTG Cards, as that is where the images come from originally. I will, in the future, use other sources, and maybe make some original ones with my own artwork; but the quality, and suitability of MTG-Style images makes them a perfect choice for WC.
