2D Portraits possible?

2D Portraits possible?

I was hoping to replace the 3-D hero portraits in my map with simple 2-D face paintings. Is this possible?

I have searched hours now on many forums for such a tutorial without finding a detailed the ansewer.

If possible how?

You would have to make new sprite for that, in mdx format with assigned camera.

Or a plane with the image skinned onto it.
