how can i create an icon???

Create a 64x64 picture, put the meatl border around it, and then draw whatever you want on it. Then save it as .tga and convert it to a .blp using the WC3Viewer.

But you'll need a decent image editing program first. Find loads on www.download.com

ok i have photoshop...

but i want to make an easy one first, with like a smilie on it or something before i start makng nice ones...

so:

1) where can i get the WC3VIEWER??
2) what is a "meatl" border??

1. You can download WC3 Viewer in the tool section
2. The metal border is on all icons of wc3. You can copy and paste it or download my icon template

exactly, next time u start a thread on how to make an icon search the forums. because this has been answered a thousand times.

ok, so i did these things:

1) copied an icon (some shield) and loaded it into Photoshop. Then i made my own icon of it. But then i saved it but it was a .jpg picture then. So i couldnt make it .tga????

2) downloaded the same shield, but couldnt load it into photoshop. So i used the WC3viewer, and made it some weird other thing (.tga??) but that couldnt been load as well because of the modul interface????

can anyone please help me out?

EDIT: it seems i can load it into paint, btu as u might know, it isnt a good program to change the picture

You can save your icon as .tga

WC3 Viewer will open .blp and not .tga or .jpg or .bmp but you can convert them to .blp
