I need 2 know how i can use variables tell me the basics about them, and then i'll ask questions about them.

They are used to hold data, often used with the Set Variable function. Like X in a mathematic problem.

The best place for you to see what variables are and how they work is in one of the maps that blizzard put in with the editor. I think it's called Monolith or something, but the triggers are heavily commented and most of it is easy to grasp...at least that's how I learned...if I learned...well, just check it out. It should help.
