How to make skin

(There is probally another topic like that but i didnt see so i post this)

Tool needed :

Painshop (any type of paintshop)
Wc3 Image Extractor II
Warcraft 3 Viewer

-You can find every tool in this site

Starting :


First, open Wc3 Image Extractor II and go find a skin that you want to modify. Save the skin then open your paintshop (im using paintshop pro 9). Import your skin that you saved in your paintshop then start to work on it. (Dont forget to zoom to make better details)

After :


After you finish to paint, you have to convert your skin to .blp. Use your Warcraft 3 Viewer to do it. Then you can submit your skin!

Actually, id say that you should learn to paint (irl), before trying to texture O.o

I think someone needs to make a skin tutorial because there are hardly any on this site... I like GoD's enthusiasm though (sp?)

im planning to do an easy step by step tutorial of making a decent freehand skin soon, as soon as i get through some things.

Sorry for this Afro, but wouldn't that require you to be able to make a decent freehand skin ?

..now that's just really cold....

Maybe I can. I have done a few freehand skins, but I don't know about if they are " good " because the " skilled " skinners didnt put any suggestions.
