Golden Axe

Im only a novice map maker/modder so this is just an idea. But wouldnt it be possible?

Zoom the camera into the plane, horizontal camera view just like the game.
Use the arrow keys as movement, or AWSD, of course key pressing lag would be an issue but im sure that could be eradicated.

Problems are giving the plane the view like most scrolling beatemups where they actually appear tilted. Although the implementation could make for a basic fighting engine.

Just a thought....

The camera angle and movement/scrolling can be easily done, however the unit movement through keys would be a bit harder to impliment. It would probably be easier to retain the point-and-click interface.

i'm working on a map which uses key control atm, it's something like a 3d person shooter, with free for all, and capture the flag gamemodes, and it's working pretty well, i can give you some triggers for this, but i can't say how it would work on a flying unit.

A map using the arrow keys will never work on battle net, until they make the response time on the keys in a multiplayer game on battlenet "instant" instand of laggy.

Because of the laggy response time on battlenet, a game using arrow keys will never be widely recieved by players.

"Thats my opinion anyway."

Mkae abilities like berserk and wind walk for moving because they have no casting at all. Then it's all triggering from there
