Hard Freezes in World Editor

Sometimes while I'm using world editor, my whole computer goes into a hard freeze. Can't move the mouse, cant ctrl-alt-delete, can't do ANYTHING, except turn it off. Sometimes I can go for hours using world editor without a problem, other times it happens after only five minutes. It seems to happen at random times, for example just now I was looking at unit data (just looking at the screen, not clicking or anything) when it froze. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Comp specs:
1.2 ghz amd
512mb ram
S3 twister k integrated graphics chip 32 mb
Win XP pro
20 GB hard drive (plenty of free space)

um...

your computer seems up to the challenge, but maybe you tried to run too many processes, try going to task manager, and look at the processes that take up meory I think some AOL users have lag due to thier service, and a certain winamp process gives me a lot of lag until I remove it. it could be it just doesn't have enough ram left.
