Installation of map

I downloaded a map from this site (Plains of Medea) but the only file in the package is a w3x file. What should i do with the file?

Umm place it in your downloads directory and play the map?

ok do it like this...

go to your wc3 folder should be --> Program files\warcraftIII\maps\frozen throne\then create a folder inside and name it as you like.

now open your wc3 (game ) and go to singleplayer --> custom game, then go to the folder you created and start the map.

of course i take it that you have TFT...

W3x - Frozen Throne
W3m - Reign of Chaos
W3c - Campaign

The campaigns you pleace in: Program files\warcraftIII\Campaigns

and go then in game and go to Custom campaigns..

there i created a full explenation..

Hope this helps.

Arhh damn., Doesnt have TFT. And it doesnt seem i got a Campaigns directory either :S
#5
you need to update (patch) your TFT.

and it may not work if you have too many maos in a folder

Okay i only got ROC. So i hve chosen another map. A W3C file, a campaign file, as you said, but i dont have a Campaigns folder and theres no place in the game where i can choose custom campaign, only custom game.
#7
well W3x is only for tft.

and for the campaigns i dont know what to say.  in fact i'm not sure if ROC have custom campaigns as i dont play it anymore...

If you want to play custom maps or campaigns, you'll largely need to get TFT. Only .w3m files are runnable with just RoC, which means you can't play any .w3x's, and no custom campaigns whatsoever.
