Indeed... If you just want the unit to leave a trace of steps... You can trigger it. If you want the model, post into the "Requests" forum. It is not our duty to make models here.
although the model may be there, the footstep generation i believe is hardcoded with the unit. If i'm wrong about this, then maybe you can explain the importance of these footsteps mods. Otherwise, it won't really work for you.
SFX triggering for one unit would work with GUI, which would use an integer loop which spawns the footsteps from the unit which stay there until another loop clears them. A little vague, but I think Daelin or Raven can further explain
um in spell section there is a blaze spell from d2
also, if u want a passive ability, just use the factory ability(auto produce ability). make it make invisible wards that have immolation or something and u can make 3 types, 1 for each type of step u want
Heh... I must confess that I was never good at such stuff. Along with units turned in missiles that damage units but don't get destroyed. Heh, I'll have to try these stuff by now but I believe that this foot stuff could be tried with Blaze but if you want it permanent it will cause quite some lag. Hmm... Not sure yet. If you want it permanent you can indeed trigger it. Even so, you can always trigger it (make traces appear at the origin of the unit) and have some additional triggers which disable them when unit dies and so on but... It lags. Hopefully you don't want it permanent...
well you could simply make a trigger to create unit's w/ locust ability at position of your guy and add a timer to them so you don't have to worry about cleanup because it's considered as a "natural" death, as in, the unit wasn't forced to die, but it's as if it was a summon and it's timer expired. That would make no lag and also give you the effect you want. Just add a trigger that checks position so you don't get any overlapping and presto! At least, that's how i'd do it.
Yeah. You could add expiration timers to units as if they were summoned. The only problem is that would seriosuly screw up unit scores if not done right, do say hello to dummy players i.e. Neutral Passive
Hmm... might still lag because you will need a big nice for. I'm not sure if it is the most happy variant but it is a variant. Perhaps you should try it...
