I'm sure you all have thought about maps that would be kick-ass-awesome to see here, or on battle.net, but don't have the time/skill/methods/etc to make them yourselves. Me, for instance, I have my own projects.. but maps I'd like to see made are;
A good, complete, non-rigged, balanced Diablo2 remake. With custom models, and without the first zombie you slay dropping a freakin' Messerschmidt's Reaver or something.
A "WotA". Yes, a balanced Dota, but with War of the Ancients characters, as in the novel. And another map layout of course. Team one is ancient nightelves, with heroes like Young Tyrande, Young Malfurion, Rhonin, Krasus, Brox, etc.. Team two is Burning Legion, with heroes like Mannoroth, Lord Xavius, Hakkar the Houndmaster, etc.

Like Eusira said,
Hero Arena Classic With new balanced heroes, sensible abilities that aren't overpowered, heroes that make sense (no Giant Peons or Tiny Catapults please), non-overelaborated arena, maybe one or two small sidequests, but not fifty that all unlock overpowered characters, creeps spawns that make sense, arena-friendly terrain (no portals,no boss spawns, fountain of replenishment?, trees that regrow (FoN))

Boyeeeza! Thats my current you are talking about!
Only, its strictly teambased, and you do acquire quests, but it is simply to progress on the map, as the actual objective is, with your good or evil team, to claim regions of the map, by gaining influence either by killing enemy heroes (low influence gain, however), invading a region (which is the hardest to say the least, but works right away - region for the taking) or by completing quests that will be unlocked depending on how you play. I am still working out quests, how to gain quests, and I aint no done with the abillities yet!
This is a brief of the basics - each team can choose from two races. Everyone on the "Good" team, can choose either a human or an elf. As well with the "Evil" team, who can choose from orcs and demons. Both team has some sort of "bases", that garrison units, dependant on what race a certain player chose. Theese bases are furthermore scattered on the map, garrisoned by neutral chars, and can be claimed. If say, an Elf hero claimed a neutral or enemy camp, the camp would become "Elven" and garrison elven units, and the "good" team would have gained influence. You can quest in the camps, and dependent on what type of camp it is, the quest will be thereafter. Like aos, (only not so frequently) small spawns of units will charge into open territory. They may hold items that is quested for, and randomly (however dependent on the camp it came from) a npc unit you are able to speak to, to get a quest, may spawn. Even more so, different factions may contribute eachothers units, in the way, that Elf and Demon units are casters, and Orc and Human units are fighters. But even more so, if one team chooses a set of heroes from only one faction, ei. if all evil team members chose Demon heroes, they would have no fighters to speak of, but thier units would get a team bonus consisting of more mana and higher mana regeneration to all units, and lowered prices on potion items for heroes. And if only orc, the bonus is higher attack rate and damage, and an unlocked unit for the garrison. Elf recieves lowered prices on scrolls, higher armor and mana regeneration to all units. and lastly, Human units gets more hitpoints and unlocked a unique unit, as well as discounts on hero revival
But allright, I am a single person, and frankly, I still have a long way to go to get this finished and thereafter, polished - but heck, if anyone can do this before me, feel free to give it a go - I am just not gonna believe you, until I see it hosted on bnet
I was planning an arena with the basis of an RPG and AoS-- Classes, equipments, possibly recipes (those are a pain), and if I feel like it, a save code to load like extra exp points when you play. I might include a CTF mode, but all this would require someone else to take the job every other week for me
Disco Nightclub map, using my disco models. You can play as a doorwatch a dancer or a damn kid who wants to sneak into the club but isn't old enough. The doorwatches job is to kick the kids ass, the kids job is to avoid doorwatches while the disco dancer is a guy who can do special dancemoves to make strange things happen in the game. The map would of course be full of bonus modes, dancing competitions, drink mixing and all that jazz.
