HRRRMMMM. Well, this is kind of a substancial way of doing it. Just remove the heros name completely. And when using Cinematics or somehow somebody talking to the hero. such as "We are thankful for your help (Joey.)" Then make a trigger somewhat like this

Event: Unit enters Region
Condition: Region equal to "Gratz Region"
Action(s): Display text to (Player Owner of (Triggering unit)) "We are thankful for your help (Player name of owner of (triggering unit))

Think that's how it would go, and I know you didn't ask how to do it. I'm just telling you what ways would be the most effective. Hehe, :D

There's no trigger that lets you change the proper name.

Which is a bit frustrating for many folk, especially for simple added touches in a map, like setting a hero to be named after its player, for example.

However, if you just want to use one of a set of pre-determined names, you can keep placing the hero with a trigger and checking the placed hero's proper name, and stop when you've got what you want.

It's not possible to do what you want to do.
