WC2 Unit Sound Sets

I got WC Bnet edition and extracted the sounds. I was wondering if there was a way to make a unit sound set(because all the different unit phrases are seperated) and compress it. Any ideas?

This is a Warcraft 3 forum, not a warcraft 2. I used to make warcraft 2 maps about a year ago (even when I had War 3), but then I decided to move to Warcraft 3. I don't remember much of Warcraft 2 stuff anymore.

I want to use them in my WC3 TFT map. I need to know how to compress and make them into one file for each unit.

Can't really. You need to replace a given unit's sound set with your voices from the MPQ. A lot can be found in tons of different maps

Well the WC2 1.15 Pro has all the sounds for all of them, but it is locked. SO I know it is possible.

Alternative, I could assign just one of the sounds I imported, how can I compress the .wmv file though?

Come on people, some one must have done this before.

first:
burn the sound files to a cd.
second:
record the cd with music match as mp3.
third:
your done.

why are you making it so damn complicated? just extract all the sounds you need from wc2 and import them to your map, and replace the unit sound you want to replace with the new one and then it works. you don't need to change any files or anything, i have done this before.

Ok, that didn't help. I need them to be compressed for one thing, secondly I need to know how to put multiple sound clips for a unit (say the orc boat sounds) into one file. By that I mean the multiple sounds you get my clicking on the units over and over.

Erm... The WC3 sound files are SEVERAL files. Why the blue hell would you want to combine them into one?

NO! I will explain one last time. In the WARCRAFT 2 sound folders each units responses are in a different .wmv. Transfering only one of them to my map would only allow me to use that one response. HOW do I make a unit (ie the juggernaut) have all the juggernaut sounds? Secondly, each file is 30+ kb, I need them smaller.

You can't make them smaller. They're compressed already

You just import each file as its ment to be imported, as a different file. And give them all a proper path

Tadah, done

But then how do I assign a unit a certain sound? Will it know to use all of that paticular units sounds if I assign it just one of them?

Are you sure there is no way to compress?

You have to REPLACE an ingame soundset with the new sounds. I'll leave you up to the best ones to replace

Well if I can't get them compressed any more than forget it, thanks for teaching me how to use sounds though.
