Removing Weapons with skins?

Removing Weapons with skins?

Im not good with making models so I decided to go with skins, anyway is it possible to remove weapons from a character from a skin, or is that only with modeling. I started just today and I thought all I had to do was paint it black..I was wrong yes. If anyone can tell me how to remove weapons I would much appreciate it.

you can get rid of SOME weapons using alphaing. it's difficult if you dont have psp6 or photoshop.
