Heh, if blizz used WEU, Wc3 would be on patch 3.37 right now, because all the extra bugs they needed to fix.

Oh i really like terraining, so i'm in for sure! I think i'll make a 4 player map. My favourite things in making maps is to make it detailed, but i think i'll have to discipline myself not to make it overdecorated...

taurenwarriorthis i must say i am rather disappointed in, it completly singles out terraining, no positions for triggerers or modders, i was actually looking forward to this contest, guess i was wrong. I have no idea why it took you soo long to make, but really, why not a contest that allows for all skills and ppl, e.g. a race contest where u make ur own race... or a sorta contest where u make a map, but terring is graded, but this?

There were and still will be maps that focus on triggering etc. The hero making contest was a test for triggerers. There has to be a balance between different contests to give different people a chance to show off their specialties. Thats why we are focusing on one item at a time instead of everything at once.

Whispering Waters clearly states that it is a beta, map in progress, which its final version has not been released. When the new version is released, you have little choice but to accept it for the contest.

Can we have teams? IE 4 vs 4? And if so can those teams all be the same race? IE four orcs vs four humans, etc? Can we have teleporters, I ask because they use regions.
#25
can we use . . .

waygates?

creeps from different tilesets? (bandits in dungeon, skeletons in cityscape, etc.)

campaign units as creeps? (stonemaul ogres, hydromancers, landmines, etc.)

normal units as creeps? (necromancers, tauren, etc.)

the wierd critters to make mechanical critters a little more worthwhile? (like frogs chickens, racoons and such.)
#26
Any variation of creeps is fine, altering tilesets is fine, because those are all things you can do and still have it be registered as a melee map. I say don't hold back with the doodads. they are important for making terrain look good. But I do suggest that you look into non-pathing doodads because they dont hinder unit movements or structure building, but are still there for decoration. (examples: cat tails, river rushes, lilly pads, ect). Waygates and waygate regions are fine too, because those don't strip the melee status off a map, either.

Maps made and posted before the contest announcement will not be accepted. End of story.

So far we have one contestant: KrackenX's (4)CityoftheDammed Lets see some more!

I am thinking about entering this, so good luck to all!

Ok i'm done with the beta version of my map, and i'll submit it soon. The map's name is: (4)Serpent Canyon

BTW is it allowed to update the map submitted to the contest?
#29
No, only final versions allowed. Once you submit your map you can't make any changes to it.
#30
*important question!!!*

Is there a limit to how many maps a user can submit?
