Yea the beginning part of the story is similar with Blizzard's history of warcraft I think because of the titans. But there are modifications such as the formation of the undead and stuff. Thx -Blue
exelent story line, gameplay sounds interesting, and yes, the storyline is a somewhat twisted version of the original warcraft history. NO i dont have yahoo, but people pc online is getting an upgrade, and soon, ill be able to have my own free email-adress, when i do, ill get a yahoo.
Ook.. I'm not sure what you dont understand but heres what I need done:
1. A directional system. Depending on which way the hero is facing, I want a thing on the leaderboard that shows which way you are going. (Ex: facing south, it shows south. Download a campaign called Warcraft 3: World Of Warcraft campaign on this web page if u dont get it. It has the system.)
2. Show the location on the leaderboard. If you are in the city of Daelon, that it says Daelon. If you move to the forest, then its Daelon Forest, etc.
3. Every game day passes a day. Every game 24 hours, a day increases. Starting out at day 1, next day being day 2, on and on.
4. Hero moving between maps. Create regions so when the hero gets near it, they move to the region. Make sure you transfer everything from the bag to your hero to gold and lumber on and on. Ex: Tavern, move to tavern map. When you exit the tavern map, set it up so you come out infront of the tavern, not some random place. (P.S. To the South of Daelon is the Forest, to the East is the field, then to the east of the field is the plains.) Grandshop map is the same as the armor/weapons map. Make the triggers in each map to enter and exit.
5. Bank Map. Don't worry about it. Ive been fooling around with this, and I think I can get the trigger. So forget what I said on the readme.
6. Death system: When you die, make a dialogue pop up giving you two options on how to resurrect. A. You are resurrected at the spot with 10% of original health, -10% of your exprience, and -25% of your current gold. B. You can become a ghost form and walk back to the nearest healer, at which point you will be resurrected near the healer with no penalty.
Ignore all trigger system I've created other than the arrow movement and food system and the trigger that makes the bag follow the hero. Does that explain it? Thx -Blue
Here is the next system I am currently working on. By the way frenzy, we'll be glad to have you on our team (What r you good at by the way? Terraining, triggering, etc.). Im making the nation system in the beginning of the character selection so it is choosing the race, sometimes sex (some races dont have different sex such as dwarves, taurens etc.) and then choosing your nation. Since only humans are availuable right now, I'll have it set for the four human nations: Rarad, Harad, Ingalf, and Tarnas.
Brief summary of the nations:
Rarad: One of the first human kingdoms established, Rarad was mostly destroyed in the First Orcish War. Led by the noble Gavrinrad, the Raradians fought back at their brutal invaders outnumbered 20/1 at the Battle of Hagadar Cliffs, stopping the advance at the cost of their entire army. Gavrinrad along with his army was killed in this battle. But this battle stunned the orcish alliance, and they found respect for the Raradians. In their native tongues, they call Raradians Gul'got Bgutz, meaning Warriors of Glory. The orcs also gave Gavrinrad the title Kult'r meaning Bringer of Death. Known to be amongst the fiercest warriors of the human race, Raradians are often engaged in war.
Harad: A small section that was once part of the Kingdom of Rarad. The Haradins broke away from Rarad less then a decade before the First Orcish War. Haradins, however, still felt a strong bond to Rarad, and was the first to help in the First Orcish War. Known for their magicians, Haradins were very effective in confusing the orc troops, and often using their magic to cause mass destruction.
Ingalf: The largest of the human kingdoms, Ingalf was also quick to come to Rarad's aid in the First Orcish War. Ingalfians are known for their cavalry, and their powerful crossbows that they learned to make from the dwarves. Ingalf was completely destroyed in the First Trollic War, but Rarad felt that they owed the Ingalfians for their aid in the Orcish War, and helped them to rebuild their nation.
Tarnas: Many hate this nation and try to avoid it. Filled with beggers and robbers, the nation is often in civil war. Tarnas was destroyed 4 times over the past wars, and ever since then, they begun their slow decline. Many great assassins and thieves come from this nation. The warriors of the land however, are exprienced brutal soldiers, when not drunk.
Well there you have it. I'm gonna get to work soon on the nation system. Thx -Blue
Pfff... Team managements are going to be a problem here... Everyone says that they don't have the time to do the stuff. there is no deadline for this project!! I don't intend that we'll get much done till summer, and summer is really when I am going to start to build. If everyone comes and goes, there is no point of the team, so I myself will be working solo. If you'd like to back out of this, please back out now before I start depending on you guys to get something done. Don't feel pressured to stay if you really don't want to. The project will not be abandoned, it will just take a while to get stuff done. (P.S. by the way death, the old system that I had that didn't quite work included most of these triggers, and only took me about an hour. It shouldn't take that long, but its your choice.) Thx -Blue
its not like i dont have time, its just that you never mentioned we needed to learn jass to do these triggers, since im not a jass person and the triggers your talking about (cept the moving from area to area and drunks and stuff) require jass or EXTREMELY advanced GUI, which take a long time just to do one trigger that way
Not really. I've done them before. All you gotta use is some variables and stuff to get it done. If you want to check out the world of warcraft campaign on the webpage. The trigger there gave me some ideas. Thx -Blue
deathbedeli2its not like i dont have time, its just that you never mentioned we needed to learn jass to do these triggers, since im not a jass person and the triggers your talking about (cept the moving from area to area and drunks and stuff) require jass or EXTREMELY advanced GUI, which take a long time just to do one trigger that way
o common now, reading the post those triggers could easily be done in less than 2 hours (minus testing/debuging time, so maybe 3 hours) and thats just doing it in gui
i have plenty of time, to hell w/ it, im only in 7th grade. I get out at 2:30, and usually finish my homework in school. THat stuff wouldnt be too complicated, and i saved a JASS tutorial to my computer, so i can work around that. The directions thingy would be the hardest, it would go something like: every 1 sec set string for multuboard X, column X, row X to String(Real: Direction of unit). If you whant an actual little arrow, i would have to take your advice and goto the world of warcraft map, sounds like it may need some jass, how are you going to make an arrow point diagnol, all the key-board has is <>^V. If you need help death, ill be happy to give you advice, triggers, w/ever
EDIT: oh ok, you whant the name of the direction the hero is facing, thats a whole lot easier then doing a arrow lol, that doesnt have to include JASS either, it can be done in GUI

raptor has a good point, they wouldnt be so bad, i actually enjoy doing longer triggers, i just hate haveing to test them over, and over until i get them right, like the tax triggers in OOTGF 3.5, although its not TOO long, kinda medium-long.......
