Noob needs skinning help badly

Im a noob at making skins, and i need to invert the skin on an undead acolyte for a map im making. I don't even know what Program i need to skin my models, so plz tell me.

That tutorial does not explain how to import a skin into a game. That is where im lost...

And there is a thread with the same name "Importing Skins" by oz02 in the tutorials section. Check it next time before asking!
