Thats seperate to the model.
In object editor, its projectile art.

It has to be a mdx. Hell, you can make a peasent be a missile if you want

i have downloaded wings3d for fun and i have made a cool ball with some sharp blades on it but how do i get it over in war3

make sure its .mdx or .mdl and import it via import manager.

i have saved the model as a mdl file but i cant see the model when the unit attack (it is a ranged attack)

I think it needs to be .mdx to actually work in WC. There's an .mdl <-> .mdx converter on this site.

A model (mdx) doesn't need a path. Simply remove the wc3mapimported in the path. The blp's should have the paths shown in the mdl-file
