Re: Multiple Skins for Model

FookinIdiotIf I have a custom unit, what would the path for it be? And could I have multiple of the same unit model on the map, but each has a different skin?

Example:
I have two Dark Ranger type units as two different heroes.
One has a forest elf skin, and the other has an ice elf skin.

Is that possible?

Can't do that. You can only do that by reading oz02's tutorial on using more than 1 skin for a model.

On the download page for a skin, would it say the correct path for the file at the top?
#48
No, you'll have to import the right path for yourself. But for models the skins' paths are shown.

You can. TFT skins are in war3x.mpq

How do I find out the correct path for the skins?
#52
Download WC3 Viewer (download in tool section)
open up the mpq which has the skin in it.

On the right side, there should be a tree list box. Browse and find the skin through the mpq. The skin name should be it. Monitor your way you browsed through the mpq and that should be the path.

#57
i know i am a noobie to this but where do you finde textures?
#58
Its a single folder category in your mpq. You'll see it with WC3 Viewer or Image Extractor's tree list view.

Is War3 Viewer the same as WinMPQ?
#60
No it isn't.
