Well, that's really nice, Whitehorn... I love it! Mmmh.. I got ideas streaming in already. Too bad I can't make models. :(

BTT,
Gnolls, I guess they are some kind of Werewolf relative.. They are dogs walking on two legs, no?

Also - Mammoths came from simply enough from the Mammoths from Ice-Age. Only they didn't have faces like those in WarCraft..

Gnolls are hardly like weres. A werewolf or any were (lycanthrope / ) is shapeshifter. Afflicted by supernatural illness/curse (lycanthropy) that transforms them. They're not exactly wolf-men.

Therianthropy also features in my mod :) Sure druids chose to shapeshift, but my chaps will have bestial afflictions, turning them into all manner of beasts :P

Gnolls exist many fantasy worlds as dog/hyena bipeds. They're dark goblins in others.

dogs are domestic animals, but wolves don't. although they might derive from the same species, the course of time has greatly changed them. oh, there was this documentary i watched, which states that wolves had a knowledge of basic mathematics, as they needed to remember the number of wolves in their pack.

dang. off-topic again...

What else do we have?

The centaurs are based on the centaurs - weird, but true.
Ogres are based on the generic fantasy ogres... they got the same function as the trolls in LOTR - big and nasty, violent brutes with no intellect

The Ogres are more based on Trolls than the Trolls themself.. The Ogre fits nicely into the trolls of Scandinavia, only they have different skin-tones, and they don't got Trees and Bushed growing out of their back.
