-I just watched that video and thought their conduct was disgusting. My condolences go out to those who know this person for the loss of a family member or friend.
-In response to Mechanical Man's question (did some research to answer this), a stroke is in a way similar to a heart attack in how it is caused. Strokes are caused by a loss of blood flow to the brain, causing destruction to brain tissue that disables functions associated with the area damaged. (like how heart attacks are caused). There are two general classes of stroke, ischemic strokes (more common) and hemmorhagic strokes. Ischemic strokes are caused by a blood vessel (like typical heart attack cause) in the brain being blocked by something such as a clot or other large particle. A hemmorhagic stroke is one caused by a blood vessel bursting and is the worst kind of stroke.

james1654THIS IS A FORUM, FOR DISCUSION, NOT FOR DICTATORSHIP!

And VGsatomi, you was higly unresponcible to go making a news subject and putting so much agrestion and 1-sided opinion into the first post you made, that you knew would have diferent opinions.

But at least VGsatomi dont whine like a little teenage girl such as you do, sheep. VGsatomi, instead acts like a man, and you act like a silly woman sheep. BTW, will people stop taking teh piss out of him saying that hes a female. Of course hes not.
At least I don't think he is. Correct me if i am wrong.

SN for teh win! They are so cool. I wish I was american so that i could be in their clan on wow as well as on their forums on the web.

I remain a suporter of VGsatomi and SN alike. They are both great people. And besides, sheep, VGsatomi would not ban me just for me showing my veiws. If he wanted no discusioon, hes had locked the thread. Hes a nice person :) VGSATOMI FTW !!!

Firstly, you have no idea. Forum moderators can do whatever they want. If they don't like what you're saying, they can ban you, delete your posts, or close the thread.

Secondly, you're a sad person. You don't even get how solemn the event was supposed to be. You're as sick and twisted as the people planning the event.

And thirdly, stop sucking up. That never works, unless it's more covert and the mods are morons. VG isn't a moron.

omfg... some people are such dumbf*cks. seriuosly, right now i'd just like to shoot them all. i mean, they're even flaming the family for no damn reason at all.

Personally I'm not a big fan of WoW or any of the MMO's I played WoW before, and there were always so many more horde than alliance (started with an alliance char). I found that all my allies seemed to be idiots, and all the ones with even average intelligence were on my f list. I then switched to horde, as alliance began to annoy me. As I horde I can only say I had a new found hatred for the alliance... I really, really dont like them. Anyways, I think this was going WAY too far. The people who did this must be the lowest members of the alliance there is, and as people, they cant be that great either. I think that anyone who believes this was funny, should burn in... well we all know the rest. I could say a whole lot more to bring them down but it'd just be a waste of words.

People take the internet wayyyyy too serius.

Ok, I haven't read since my last post, but to the person who said this isn't a dictatorship...

This IS a dictatorship. Like it or not

Anywho, as I have probably said, I am completely fine with the gank. That I could live with

The comments afterwards however are completely sickening and seem to attract my "Asshole" side which, among other things, is the type to go to a funeral of one of the friends of those people and do the exact same thing to give them the grief they made others feel with those comments
#97
Well, that's one guild that'll be ganked for life...

I have only recently saw this, so I missed much of it and there are a lot of things I'd like to respond to, so let me just say my piece, k?
page 2, Pooper0101_X, GRAMMER! if you're going to write a post plz at least take the time to
make it readable, or do you hardly know english? ya know like from Austrailia or smthn? :?
page 3, Matt540, sheep god!, they might be from different countries, that's not out of
consideration..
page 1, EdwardSwolenToe and Ki, no comment, becouse it would definitly count as flaming
 page 1, Lord Finarfin, among others, read the whole post, it was her favorite zone, thats
why they did it there, and if they did it in stormwind, the horde people wouldn't have
been able to attend
page 3, Angelus, don't you think that is a bit extreme? I mean sure, it was bad, but all out
war is the best option, ya know, hunt down their members an give em whats what. real world
and virtual wprld are 2 different things and should stay that way, if you want to dish out
justice, then do it in the game, and dont go saying that bacouse she died in real life,
she shouldn't have a memorial in a virtual world, dying in the real world means you die in
the virtual world too, its perfectly fitting :)
page 3, Gerald, im almost certain you're part of that guild, so jus shut up
page 4, james1654, look pal, you dont have any sense of law and order, and plz tell me you
wouldn't go and hijack a plane in real life if you could get away with it, really
page 4, Ki, I have a special response for this, people have different thoughts on things,
yes, dont just think you're right and everyone who disagrees with you is wrong, and
playing neutral in this is not going to fly, you can't be completly neutral in THIS debate,
and quite frankly I think you've crossed to the wrong side, but thats all perspective,
theres no right and wrong there, just opinions, which I cannot overstate should be
respected, its pretty much the same as saying, "I think this is dumb, so im going to kill
everyone there", just get on with your life and let everyone else get on with theirs,
me, I definitly agree with VG and sheep god.
page 4, Matt540, sheep god!, first post, now THIS is what cracks me up!
"quote James"
LOL, watched the movie at least 8 times now. I crack up every time!

I was crying of loaughter when i read the topic from the news page. I sighned up to join serenity
now, that was freaking hilarious. I was absoloutly crying my eyes out with laughter.
"end quote"
"quote sheep god!"
James, ima get a gun out and shoot you before you can find a stolen map.
"end quote"
LOL, I love you, sheep god!
"quote"
if you play WoW or TFT you should agree
"end quote"
I dont remember who said this, and I'm not really interested in going through all that to figure
out, but I know a lot of people on B.net who just come in, act like an idiot then if they actually
are lucky enough to have pro teammates and are winning, they start shouting "noob" and profanities at
your face, poor fools.
whats your account on B.net sheep god? becouse I also play COT, Stronghold and sheep tag, and just
wondering if I had played with you at some point.Heh, cant help nut brag, I have a lvl 70 Dragoon
on COT, without any help from other players! of course I dont have any god auras, but still...
Page 5, Xlightscreen, AGAIN, people have different opinions, and even if you dont agree with them,
you should really respect them, to tell the truth, you're just making me madder at serenity now...
*swings impossibly big mallet at serenity now member*, look, if you like to just own people, then
then do it with people who share that opinion, or at least with people who are ARMED for crying out
loud!
the guild members might be just playing a game, but these guys arent, they should really
show some respect here! Oh and, personally, I think you're post counts as flaming
page 5, Nastra and sheep god!, glad to see that COT is as popular as I first thought, but that
confuses me even more, couse it took well over half an hour to find a COT last night, and far longer
the day before, yet my friend found one as soon as his last game was done, IS MY COMP FINLTERING OUT
COT'S!? ARE THEY GOING SO FAST I DONT FIND THEM BEFORE THEY START!? DOES GOD HATE ME SO MUCH!? WHY!?
page 5, SilverSong, please look at the classes and other things about WoW before posting stuff like
this, there is no bard class
page 7, reckoning, do you have a B.net account? can you tell me what it is if you do? becouse as far
as I can tell people dont mind if you flame people on B.net

sry if i haven't played WoW, but from what I've heard and read, this is my idea of what to
do...
What I'd do is just find out if they're planning a raid at some point, and ambush them when they come out, you knew the person, you should take some payback, just wage war an all!
all you're doin that I see is complaining that blizzard should jump in, really if you have an issue take it straight to em! (in the shape of an axe or flamestrike, if you will) wait a minute, this is exactly what blizzard what hoping for, right? some historic action on the part of the players, perfect opportunity for some really big battles between the guild, its supporters vs the ppl they attacked and their supporters! 8)

of course in the end I cant relate to this, nobody in my family has ever gotten closer to
death than a large gash in the knee, which I must admit has happened 3 times, but still,
the main issue here is definitly respect, or the lack thereof

what I think is the saddest part is their guild name, "serenity now", Serenity was one of my favorite movies, and firefly by far my favorite TV series, and for me they practicly spit on it, PAYBACK!

*whacks another serenity now member with an even larger mallet*

You really have to make this difficult, Cronus, by saying something so wrong that I have to jump in again.

You sir are the biggest hypocrite.

GRAMMER! if you're going to write a post plz at least take the time to
make it readable, or do you hardly know english? ya know like from Austrailia or smthn?

I can barely read your entire post. I mean if it's long, it's especially important to be neat. Otherwise, people won't even bother (with the exception of me).

they might be from different countries, that's not out of
consideration..

It really doesn't matter what country you are from (with the exception of some). If you own a website such as this, you can make whatever rules you want (with the exception of some). If I am in a free speaking country and I create a forum website, I can really set the rules to my liking.

it was her favorite zone, thats
why they did it there, and if they did it in stormwind, the horde people wouldn't have
been able to attend

If you post it in a public forum where people from everywhere of all types (mature/immature) have access to the information about the ceremony, I would anticipate someone screwing it up. Would they rather do it in her favorite spot or rather in an area without the possibility of attack? Believe it or not, Horde people can create a new account on the opposing side and join in. They just weren't thinking.

real world and virtual wprld are 2 different things and should stay that way

dont go saying that bacouse she died in real life, she shouldn't have a memorial in a virtual world, dying in the real world means you die in
the virtual world too, its perfectly fitting

plz tell me you wouldn't go and hijack a plane in real life if you could get away with it, really

Maybe I am wrong, but I think that those quotes are contradictory.

people have different thoughts on things,
yes, dont just think you're right and everyone who disagrees with you is wrong, and playing neutral in this is not going to fly, you can't be completly neutral in THIS debate, and quite frankly I think you've crossed to the wrong side

As a supporter of existentialism, I never think I am always right and I never doubt that anyone I disagree with is truely wrong. In fact, right now, I am unsure of my existence, but I am forced to assume that I do exist because I would not be able to operate without that assumption. Learn more about Decartes' philosophy of underlying uncertainty and come back and talk to me again. And I can't be neutral? Then, how did I cross to the wrong side? Neutral isn't a side. I always lean towards obtaining a moderate view as I do my best to give responses without bias and on a one sided point of view.

theres no right and wrong there, just opinions, which I cannot overstate should be
respected

On the contrary, I think there is a right answer to everything, but the truth is extremely hard to grasp because of narrow minded perspectives and bias that one may not even be aware of. You have assume that I have a mindset that is set to knock down VG and Matt, the sheep god. That is very wrong. My responses exist because I see something that may have a wrong angle at a situation.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Granted, it may not have been smart to hold such a memorial in a contested area of a PvP realm, but that is still no excuse. Both horde and alliance players attended without "accidents". I don't know about you all, but I think Blizz shoudl jump in on this one and have made every one of those attendees count as a dishonorable kill.

I highly disagree- a virtual ceremony is stupid idea... unless people have forgotten the difference between reality and games? People pay to play, not worship the dead. I believe you have posted this because, from your point of view, soldiers are to be respected greatly as you are/hope to become a soldier yourself. Put yourself in the position of a Blizzard employee and reconsider from their perspective.

wth! you obviously don't understand that some people actually make friends online. Besides that some of those people could have known her from her community. But in order to allow ALL her friends including those online, to participate in a ceremony, it had to be hosted online and where better than WOW? What they did is a mockery to the deceased. What disgusts me the most is their rude and immature comments they posted after the raid. It makes me sick to think that some people think that just because this is a game that everyone should be treated as another player as a target. If they didn't post those comments like they did i may have been neutral about the topic but that drove me over the edge. I think that the real question being debated here is whether or not this was justified because its a game or because we're remembering a good person. I think we should keep both arguments in mind but as it comes down to it, I know from experience that I have online friends I would dearly miss if they passed away, people i have known for more than 4 years. And lets face it most of us here don't have the money to travel over several states to go to their funeral. I don't think WOW is the most appropriate place to host memorials or funerals but i think we should allow people to still express themselves... But i mean if you like it if people spit on your grave then great for you... I just feel that we should allow others to give the deceased the respect they deserve... that's what i think.
#101
It's obvious to me that you didn't even read the whole discussion. The same idiots keep assuming the same things about what I say. Maybe I should start a new rule for myself, like only reply to people who have +50 posts. Well you quoted me so I guess I'll answer. I'll be sure to make your quotes bigger in certain areas as you did in mine.

you obviously don't understand that some people actually make friends online.

Actually, I do.

And in order to allow ALL her friends including those online, to participate in a ceremony.

Sorry, but that's not really a sentence.

What they did is a mockery to those who really miss this person.

I really doubt it was personal. Now that I look at it again, I think that they were actually just making fun of the people who were performing the ceremony. Why? Probably because the idea wasn't thought out and ended up looking stupid. Was the ceremony's intentions good? Sure, but their emotions may have blinded their good judgement.

I know from experience that I have online friends I would dearly miss if they passed away, and lets face it most of us don't have the money to travel over several states to go to their funeral.

But you have the money to play $10 a month? That's pretty expensive in my books. And if they were really your friends and you did really care for them, I think you would make the effort to go to their funeral. Honestly, I don't think too many people's friends die every five years. If you did make a trip, it would probably be your last for another couple of decades (unless you are old, but that's a different case).

And lets face it even though the game is usually for playing things change.

Look, if you want to do different things, buy a different game. I mentioned the Sims in this topic. But, of course, you would have known that if you read it all.

i think we should allow people to still express themselves

I think that's exactly what the partakers in the raid were thinking too. They wanted to express their immaturity.

But i mean if you like it if people spit on your grave or something(it could be considered the same thing) then great for you... but we should at least give the deceased some respect... that's what i think.

I think this is opinionated. Personally, I think people arn't obligated to respect just because they die. Honestly, I'm not sure if I would care if someone spat on my grave because I don't even know what exists after death. That really makes the question unanswerable.
#102
really doubt it was personal

It was. the deceased player was a member of Allkazam or something like that...look her up on yahoo. Serenity now and them were enemy clans. After the inciedent, you should have seen all the flaming in the forums between the 2 as their hatred worsened.
#103
That doesn't mean its personal. Personal is when they know exactly who the person is in real life. If it was just to attack the other clan, I don't think that would be considered personal. Correct me if I am wrong.
#104
Sorry to drop here but...

PvP'd on a pvp server.

*laughs at pve servers and carebears*
#105
*throws up the 1-finger salute at Seagull* HEY!!! CAREBEARS 4 LIFE!!!

If it was just to attack the other clan, I don't think that would be considered personal.

Try re-reading their comments again, then ask yourself again if it was merely a clan attacking another at opportunity. They sound pretty darn personal to me. And keep in mind those were just quotes I picked from the first 2 pages out of about two dozen pages of rants and arguements spread out across several topic at Serenity Now's website. I'm sure it gets a whole lot worse. If I can find the address you can go check it out for yourself.

And as for the whole dictatorship thing, I wouldnt really call this a dictatorship even though mods have absolute power. Why? Because if you hate/disagree with us, you have the freedom to leave whenever you want, as no one has any obligation to visit this site. I could force everyone to write "I'm a little teapot" at the end of their posts and ban those who refuse, but then how long would it be before everyone got pissed and left? Thats the difference. The characteristic thing about dictatorships is that their walls work both ways- to keep invaders out and their own populations in (you cant be a dictator if you have no masses to dictate over :D ). We obviously have to ability to create such a wall here.
