Hero Making Contest

Q: Can I use Beta Patch 405 for this, or do I need to unpatch? I ask because of compatability issues.

That's a good question. By the time the contest is over the final patch should be released, so as long as its compatible with whatever patch is the highest then it's ok.

A question, do we have to make everything outselves or are we allowed to use some of the spells in the spell section?

The spells must be original, that's really the point of the contest.

How do we prove that our hero is balanced? Do we put creeps in the map or will you copy the hero in to a map to test how balanced it is.

why make a hero without a new skin... if thers no current unit that works for ur idea, then it wont work at all.

@BloodElf53: The rules say that you must submit it in a map with basic terrain and creeps. That's how we'll tell that its balanced.

@Tiki: The point of the contest is really the spells, not the hero in general. If you would have to skin a lot of people would not join, since not everyone would skin, besides we've already had a skinning contest.

Any extra points for character's story and why they exist? (ie, not just some guy with a random hero name, but a title like Warden, Demon Hunter, etc and what they do, how they became a hero and whatnot)

Well, that is included in creativity, do it will give you some extra chance, but not too much. It's definitely worth the effort though.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a permade map and everyone who wants to be in the contest downloads that map and puts they're hero in to it? Then all the heros will have to use the same amount of creeps.

well i just have a question i reclenlty made a model with blizzard rescores, i did a geomerge using nothing but blizzard things, does that count as blizard made rescores or can i not use that.
